VFC Looking Towards the New Year

January 6th, 2009

House of HopeWell friends, another year has past and as we begin 2009, we would like to share the upcoming VFC trip for this big year. In October we will be undertaking one of our biggest projects yet. Vision for Chile we will be building the House of Hope. The House of Hope is a halfway house project for the women who must leave the orphanage when they reach 18 years of age. Even growing up in the nurturing atmosphere of the VFC orphanage, the girls become very anxious about reaching adulthood, knowing that their security is at risk when they return to the streets. Because the orphanage cannot keep them when they reach age 18, a safe home is needed for them as they adjust to the pressures of adulthood. The House of Hope will be this safe place. This is a very important project and largest to date. We are going to need three large teams of 40 people or more.

Team 1 - Saturday October 3rd through Sunday, October 18th
Team 2 - Saturday October 17th through Sunday, November 1st
Team 3 - Saturday October 31st through Sunday, November 15th

Team 2The only requirement for joining us is that you love the Lord and love people! Everyone of any construction skill level is welcome! However, we can always use plumbers, electricians and carpenters. The approximate cost of this amazing experience will be $3000. If you are interested, please complete an application and liability form by clicking on the “How do I go?” link at the top of this website. Then please send them to Vision for Chile, along with your non refundable deposit of $250 before April 15th. If you have any questions, please contact VFC Director Tom Orme.

We ask everyone, whether you are considering joining us or not, to please pray for the success of this project. Our goal is to complete this project in 2009 at the conclusion of October-November trip! The heart of VFC is for the well being of the girls and this new endeavor, the House of Hope, will give them opportunities which have never been available before! Important Announcement!!

December 12th, 2008

Greetings VFC friends and supporters,

JanuaryTemucoDue to circumstances beyond our control, the ESL/ Soccer camp in Linares, Chile that was scheduled for January unfortunately had to be cancelled. However the Temuco Construction Project will proceed as planned with one minor change. The dates for this trip have been moved to Sunday, January 18th through Sunday, February 1st. There will still be a team that will be building a caretaker’s home for a C&MA School heading down to Temuco during these new dates. Please click on the image to the left to view the updated flyer for this trip.

We trust in God, as always, even while enduring things that we cannot change. We ask all of you to pray for our team as they prepare for the trip and while they are doing God’s work in Chile. Also, as always, it’s never too late to support this faith based ministry financially. We thank you for all the support that you give throughout the entire year.
